Surveil-links was originally launched in January 2021 as Surveillance Today with the intent to “make sense of surveillance news, so you don’t have to.” It featured a weekly surveil-links issue, but I also tried to produce original content. During the first few months, I struggled to figure out a good release cadence and find a good balance between commentary and summarization. Soon, things in my personal life got a little overwhelming and I had to drop production Surveillance Today.
I really liked how producing each weekly surveil-links issue forced me to diligently follow surveillance news. Now that I’ve had some time to figure things out, I’ve decided to rebrand as simply Surveil-links with the mission fo rounding up surveillance news so you don’t have to. Every week, I pick the best five or so articles touching on surveillance from the past week, provide a concise summary and a link to the story. That’s it! I’m not promising any more than that. Think of it as The Browser but specifically for surveillance and privacy. 😉
